I have big love for the maidenhair fern! I wish they were easier to keep alive in my apartment! They are one of my favorite things to ogle at the nursery and botanic garden. I recently put together this Maidenhair Mobile for The House That Lars Built. Over there you will find PDF and SVG templates to download. If you do, you can follow these instructions to make a plant! It's easy!
What you need: Green card stock paper, scissors, craft knife, pliers, pot of your choice, foam, zip dry glue, green covered wire, gravel.
Use the templates from this tutorial over on The House That Lars Built to cut the ferns.
Use the pliers to carefully bend the wire to trace the stem of the fern and the zip dry glue to attach it. Be sure to leave a few inches of wire past the paper.
Cut the foam to fit inside your pot and cover with gravel. Insert the ferns and create your plant shape!
