Nothing is quite so sweet as a slice of watermelon! Even though its the dead of winter and we have over two feet of snow here in Brooklyn, my mind is already on the delicious fruits of summer. Meet the watermelon Valentine!
1. Sketch the watermelon shape on the block and carve out with the carving tools. Also carve out the shaped for the pink and green parts of the melon.
2. Fold the card stock in half and print your heart watermelon with the top near the folded edge. You can apply ink using a brayer or lightly brush on with a brush. Once the pink and green are dry, print the black watermelon shape over the color.
3. Once dry, cut out the shape leaving tabs near the folded edge to create the card.
4. Add a note to your sweet gal pals inside!
Use the same technique to create a simple watermelon Valentines garland! Just slip the cards over a length of string. Tah-Da!
